Organic Waste

SKB Environmental was instrumental in the development of commercial scale organics processing in Minnesota, establishing the first privately-owned organics composting facility in Minnesota.

Organic Waste

That commitment to organics processing continues today as SKB is pursuing new applications of proven technologies such as Anaerobic Digestion to process organics and capture energy from the waste. In addition to these cutting-edge technologies, organic waste can be composted into a valuable soil amendment.

Organic waste includes food waste, soiled paper, and other biodegradable residuals and comprises roughly 15% of the municipal solid waste (MSW) stream. SKB Environmental continues to be on the cutting edge of the opportunities related to this waste stream.

Organic waste may be delivered with prior approval to any of these facilities: Malcolm.  Please call for more information.

Anaerobic Digestion

Anaerobic Digestion

Through the process of anaerobic digestion, organic waste can be converted into renewable biogas fuel and a digestate material with many applications including use as a fertilizer.
