A series of inspections ensure that only acceptable waste is deposited in the landfill. First, incoming loads are inspected at the check-in facility. Next, personnel inspect materials as they are unloaded on the working face. Finally, equipment operators inspect loads as they are spread and compacted. Any non-acceptable wastes are refused acceptance and returned to the generator.

A computerized tracking system documents waste origin and placement. SKB issues a ticket for every load disposed at the landfill.

State, County, and City officials conduct site inspections to enforce environmental practices. SKB is proud to have never received a violation in its entire existence - almost two decades!
