A pioneer and longtime leader in Construction and Demolition Debris (C&D) recycling and processing, SKB offers mixed construction and demolition (C&D) debris recycling/processing services with our mechanical sorting station. This technology allows for the efficient, economical recovery of numerous resources including metal, concrete, wood, shingles, cardboard, plastics, fines, and many others. Loads delivered to the facility as well as the other facilities in SKB's integrated recycling system meet the requirements for the United States Green Building Council's (USGBC) LEED Program certification and other Green Building programs.

SKB believes wholeheartedly in the recycling and processing of waste. Diverting valuable materials from the waste stream saves precious landfill airspace and reduces the need for virgin resources. Economically recoverable materials such as corrugated cardboard, concrete, brick, vinyl siding, ferrous and non-ferrous metals are separated from the waste stream and recycled. Shingle waste is processed and ground for use as recycled material in asphalt road projects. Separated wood is either recycled or used as a biomass fuel product. All residual waste is disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner.

SKB has been integrally involved in the development of regulations and best management practices that ensure that the recycling, processing, and end use of this waste stream is done in an environmentally responsible manner - thus ensuring the stable long-term viability of C&D recycling.
